This season the Museum Shop is featuring two new collections that benefit organizations that help to rescue and support women and children survivors of human trafficking.
These signature scents for the home make perfect hostess gifts. Choose original Greenleaf envelope sachets, $4.95 each, or diffusers, $21.95, in scents that range from floral to fresh and clean, to sweet and spicy, to fruity, to warm and woody. Greenleaf neutral glass reed diffusers contain 4 fluid ounces of diffuser oil with fiber reeds, which will diffuse for up to 30 days.
A portion of the price of every Greenleaf sachet and diffuser sold is donated to organizations like Switch and Restavek Freedom that are working to break the cycle of human trafficking, now the fastest-growing crime in the world.
Choose a whimsical tote bag, $30.95 each, or pouch, $20.95 each, with sayings like “free to love” and “free to explore,” and support organizations that empower women who have been enslaved. The Tote Project not only employs survivors, it donates 10 percent of its gross sales to Two Wings, a non-profit organization that uses education, mentoring and life coaching to empower victims of sex trafficking to pursue their dreams.
Tote Project pouches—made of 100% organic cotton, printed with water-based, eco-friendly inks and lined with recycled sari material—are manufactured in a Fairtrade certified factory in India; handmade by brave women escaping the sex trade in West Bengal, India. The Tote Project’s roomy carryalls are made of Fairtrade certified cotton, printed with water-based, eco-friendly inks and have sturdy cotton webbed handles. Each tote is printed with the quote, “Hold on to hope that together we can end slavery” on the bottom.
