Winter Weekends

Please note:Due to high numbers of COVID-19 cases in our area, Poplar Forest is temporarily offering self-guided tours only. Docent tours are not available at this time; however, please monitor this page for updates.
Self-guided tours are offered via the Poplar Forest App. Download the app by searching “Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest” in the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. We highly recommend bringing headphones to listen to the audio.
Following a brief winter break, Poplar Forest reopens to the public for Winter Weekends on Saturdays and Sundays from January 15 through March 13, 2022. Visitors are invited to explore Jefferson’s villa retreat on an hour-long, docent-guided group tour (when available), offered 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. each day, or take the Poplar Forest app audio tour at any time. Walk the grounds, visit the slave quarter site and browse the exhibits in the lower level of the house. General admission rates apply.
