Join Travis McDonald, Poplar Forest’s Director of Architectural Restoration, for a “behind-the-scenes” look at the restoration of Thomas Jefferson’s villa at Poplar Forest. Learn the story of the President’s retreat home—his design, how it changed over time and how the restoration architects and architectural historians and craftsmen have meticulously restored Jefferson’s vision for the “best dwelling house in the state….”

Admission to the one-hour tour is included with general admission to Poplar Forest or free for Poplar Forest members. Reservations are suggested due to limited space available and can be made by calling the Museum Shop at 434.534.8120.
