Treat mom to a guided tour of Poplar Forest on her special day. Thomas Jefferson considered parental love the “strongest affection known,” and cherished the family time he shared with his granddaughters at Poplar Forest. Tour the octagonal villa—from Mr. Jefferson’s kitchen to the rooftop deck where he and his granddaughters took their nightly stroll—and learn how the Jefferson family and the enslaved families spent their days at Poplar Forest. Also enjoy learning about the women (and mothers) who called Poplar Forest home with our Women of Poplar Forest tours offered at 1 p.m and 3 p.m. Admission is free for mothers all day!
