Join us as the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra (LSO) performs an exciting new addition to its concert series, the “Patriotic Pops Concert”—a collection of patriotic tunes and classic American music by Sousa, John Williams, and other favorites—outside on the south lawn of Poplar Forest. Also participating in the event will be Thomas Jefferson, as portrayed by renowned interpreter Bill Barker, courtesy of The Thomas Jefferson Foundation. All seating will be “lawn seating”, and patrons should bring their own chairs or blankets to place in the general seating area. Patrons are permitted to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages onto the grounds for this event. Concessions will also be offered for purchase.
Tickets are $20 for adults age 18+ and $10 for youth ages under 18 and college students; and the Family Ticket (for 2 adults and more than 2 children under age 18) is $60. All ticket prices below include a $2 processing fee. Rain date: Sunday, July 10, 2022.Â
The Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra was started in 1983, to provide opportunities for local musicians to use their skills, while enhancing the community’s arts programs. The LSO has grown to a fully professional orchestra, and is a key contributor to Lynchburg’s cultural, intellectual and creative vibrancy, helping to keep Lynchburg an attractive center for economic development – essential for businesses seeking to recruit and retain investors and employees.
