Thomas Jefferson, who is considered to be one of America’s first astronomers, avidly studied the stars. Join Poplar Forest for an illuminating look at the night sky with Trish Cerulli from Belk Astronomical Observatory at the Claytor Nature Study Center at the University of Lynchburg, on Jefferson’s south lawn. The evening will begin with a talk about Jefferson and his interest in astronomy before moving to the South Lawn for your chance to gaze at the night sky. In the event of inclement weather, ticket holders will be contacted via email by 3:00 p.m. if the event needs to be rescheduled.
Admission is $15 per person and is non refundable unless the event cannot be rescheduled by Poplar Forest.
